Tribeca New Music and Nancy Mancherian’s - The Cell present Divergent Trajectories, the next concert in the BRAVE NEW WORLD webcast series, featuring pianist Adam Marks as he performs recent works by composers Michael Abels, Jonathan Bailey Holland, Tania León, and Caroline Shaw. Special thanks to Yamaha Artists Services for the use of the piano.

Divergent Trajectories encompasses four recent works for solo piano that explore time, harmony, and the relationship to the past. Each of these pieces are new to Adam’s repertoire, and many were acquired through research documented in his article, Why Artist-Driven Change is Exactly What We Need Right Now. The four composers represented have radically different compositional styles, but they all combine a clear voice and worldview with a deeply emotional connection. This performance was recorded on a Yamaha CF6 instrument graciously provided by Yamaha Artist Services, Inc.
