January 21, 2021 at 6PM, Tribeca New Music presents online webcast #3 Desolation Pops, featuring legendary pianist Kathleen Supové and The Rhythm Method, an all-female group that strives to reimagine the string quartet in a contemporary, feminist context. The four performer-composers of The Rhythm Method continually expand their sonic and expressive palette through the use of graphic notation, vocalization, improvisation, and performance.  The program will feature a new work by composer Richard Belcastro commissioned by Kathleen Supové for solo acoustic piano and “e-bow” called Overwhelming Presentness, and a new work by composer James Moore called Desolation Pops, a piano “concerto” with string quartet, also for Kathleen Supové.
